Support a Campaign

WE ACT’s campaign supporters provide much of the lifeblood of our organization's outreach and advocacy efforts. Campaign supporters are integral to our work, as they help us ensure that our efforts stay rooted in community's needs. By signing up to support a WE ACT campaign, you will be making a public statement about your commitment to the Principles of Environmental Justice and to the work that WE ACT does. You can support our campaigns either directly or indirectly by doing the following:

  • Become a WE ACT Member and join our mailing list to receive pertinent information and action alerts regarding rallies, protests, town hall meetings and workshops on environmental, health and justice issues affecting Northern Manhattan and other communities of color and low income
  • Volunteer to join our community outreach efforts, which include leafleting, phone banking and door-to-door outreach
  • Volunteer to help plan meetings and get the word out, and to help with large mailings
  • Encourage your friends, co-workers and family members to become WE ACT Members, thus helping to build a strong base of community residents and organizations dedicated to achieving environmental justice in communities of color and low income
  • Contact us about sending letters to policy makers representing Northern Manhattan communities encouraging them to take action to protect the health and environment of residents in Northern Manhattan and other communities of color and low income
  • Make a financial contribution to support the work of our organizers (thank you!)
  • Disseminating fact sheets to residents/maintenance workers in your building (we have several factsheets available online)
  • Attend public events regarding housing quality issues to assist in advocacy
  • Assist in organizing a meeting/workshop in your building during which WE ACT can present on environmental/environmental health/environmental justice issues
