Final comments submitted to the EPA on the Clean Power Plan (CPP)
December 1, 2014 was the final comment deadline for the public to provide feedback to the Environmental Protection Agency on the proposed Clean Power Plan. Over 1.2 million comments were received. Since the announcement of the rule in early June, WE ACT has been working hard to educate, advocate to leaders within the EPA and regular citizens to support a stronger rule, making environmental justice a pivotal part of the CPP. We have been successful in engaging diverse sectors and organizations – members of the faith community, students, mainstream environmental groups, state-based organizations – to tack on our message of equity into their comments. A more thorough evaluation measuring the impact of our advocacy will be conducted at a later time. Attached below our final comments from WE ACT that were submitted to the Federal Register. Ally comments will be uploaded accordingly.

Thank you to all of old and new partners that have helped to amplify the environmental justice message during this comment period. Looking forward to continuing to work with you over the next couple of years of finalization of the rule, and implementation at the state level.
